Melissa Roberty, RN
Respiratory Nurse

Melissa has been working in healthcare for 11 years. After graduating from high school, she hadn’t determined if she would pursue nursing or social work. She did know that ultimately she wanted to be in a profession where she cared for people. She began work as a Home Health Aide, then a CNA, to become more familiar with long-term care and hospital environments and see if she loved it…and she did. She developed a passion for this career, so she enrolled in BOCES and completed the LPN Program. She worked as an LPN for six years before graduating from Suffolk County Community College and becoming a registered nurse. Melissa’s favorite part of the job is the ability to learn on a daily basis, genuinely care for others, and watch them improve over time. She also loves it when she can make a resident smile. In her spare time, Melissa loves to pray, read, crochet, and spend quality time with her husband and daughter. Melissa believes in always being kind, even when others are not.
