Director of Concierge Services
Joann joined The Hamlet in January, 2018 and serves as the liaison between residents, their families and our highly-trained team members. Joann received her paralegal degree from Adelphi University and worked as a paralegal for several years. On weekends, Joann offered music therapy at a local nursing home. Shortly after, she realized that her real passion was working with the senior community. Joann left law and began working as an assistant to the director of therapeutic recreation. Joann then went on to form the first MS support group and oversaw it for 11 years. She is also a member of the National MS Alliance. At the request of a resident with PD, she began the Parkinson’s Disease support group, which also successfully ran for 11 years. Joann has always been a resident advocate, and as such, was the recipient of the NYAHSA 2008 Long Term Care Employee of Distinction Award.
